Itinerary:
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel. Our adventure begins with a private local guide and an air-conditioned car. Saladin’s Citadel is a must-see (the alabaster mosque of Mohamed Ali, the Gawhara palace belonging to the same ruler, and the panoramic view of Cairo). We next go to the Ahmed Ibn Tulun mosque to visit the Tulunid mosque and Gayer Anderson’s museum. Then it’s on to the historic Cairo’s Zwaila gate. View the Al-Moaied Sheikh mosque from the Fatimid era. We’ll go along Ghouria Street, where we’ll view the Ghouri complex and Wikala, Egypt’s fabric and cotton market. Egyptian pancakes and pizza for lunch at Khan El-Khalili. See the mosque of Al-Azhar. Walk along Al-Mo’ez Ledin Ellah Al-Fatemi Street to see the Qalawon complex, the Sehaimi historic Islamic home, and the Nahaseen copper shops. In Khan El Khalili’s coffee shop “Al-Feshawy”, sip Egyptian tea. You have some free time to go shopping in the Khan El-Khalili market. You will be returned to your hotel.
